Explanation of Names of Buddhas
一、 明明上帝
神位上曰：「明明上帝、無量清虛、至尊至聖、三界十方、萬靈真宰」，就是生天生地生萬物的真主宰。儒教稱為「維皇上帝」，耶教稱為「上帝」，回教稱為「萬靈真主宰阿拉」。因祂能生天育地創造萬物。無法定
其名，故強名曰「中」。
1. Ming-ming-shang-di
The creator of the universe. The Buddhists name Him as the “great sun tathagata. “Jehovah”, “the Lord”, and “God” are named by the Christians. The Islam names Allah. These different names all refer to the creator of the universe.
二、 諸天神聖：
就是一切天地神祇、仙佛聖賢。
2. Zhu-Tian-Shen-Sheng
Buddhas, gods, sages, saints, immortals,
angels, and deities in cosmos.
三、 彌勒祖師：
彌勒祖師，原名阿逸多，梵語翻譯中國文叫做無能勝。彌勒是他老人家的姓氏意慈氏，乃無量劫前，精修慈心三昧得成正果。曾轉世為布袋和尚、傅大士，現今應運於三期末劫之時，倒裝降世為第十七代祖師－路祖中
一，因奉命掌白陽天盤，又稱為掌盤祖師。
3. Mi-Le-Zu-Shi( Maitreya Buddha):
Maitrey Buddha (Laughing Buddha). He was incarnated as our 17th Patriarch in the White-Sun Era to hold the Heaven Post.
四、 南海古佛：
即為觀世音菩薩，聞聲救苦，慈悲度眾，於今白陽期處處助化開道，顯應事蹟特多。
4. Nan-Hai-Gu-Fo/ Nan-Hai Buddha
Also known as Guan-Yin Bodhisattva, mercifully saves sentient beings in pains. She is a great pioneer helping with the Dao propagation worldwide with countless miracles.
五、 活佛師尊：
姓李名修緣，法號道濟，生於宋紹興元年（西元一一三一年），係降龍羅漢降生。臨盆之時，紅光罩院，異香撲鼻。活佛師尊生得眉清目秀，五官端正，品貌清奇。只是啼哭不止，直到三朝，國清寺老方丈親來賀喜，一見和尚立即停止啼哭咧嘴笑了。方丈性空長老將其收為記名徒弟，給他取個名字叫李修緣。活佛師尊長到七歲，懶說懶笑，不與同村兒童聚耍。其父請來一位老秀才杜群英先生在家教他讀書，過目不忘，一目十行，十四歲考取文童，詎料其父一病歸天。修緣生性愛好經典，至十八歲之時，生母亦病歸亡。守孝期滿看破紅塵，立志出家修行，把家中之事託王員外，至杭州飛來峰下靈隱寺出家，拜元空長老為師，元空長老替他取個法號叫道濟。悟道後，在世裝瘋賣傻，到處降妖除怪，替忠臣孝子貞女節婦治
病，妙法濟世，無量功德。至今杭州靈隱寺、淨慈寺、虎跑寺等各寺，當留許多古蹟，因其到處救人，起死回生，故人人當他活佛再世，稱呼他老人家為「濟公活佛」。今值三曹普渡，為掌理道盤祖師，亦為我們
先天師尊。
5. Huo-Fo-Shi-Zun
Ji-Gong Living Buddha- the Patriarch of Dao Post for the Three Worlds.
He was born in Song Dynasty, year 1131, in China. He was called Li, Xiu-Yuan, also named Dao-Ji while he was cultivating at a temple. He was the incarnation of Xiang-Long-Luo-Han.
The day when he was delivered to the world, a huge red light covered the whole house with extraordinary aroma. He was very good looking when he was born yet he was crying continuously. Soon after his birth, a Buddhist abbot came to his home to congratulate his parents for his birth. He stopped crying and started smiling and laughing the moment he saw this abbot. The abbot took him as his disciple and named him Li, Xiu-Yuan (which means to cultivate good affinity with people, build good karma ). When he was seven years old, he loved to study instead of playing with the children in the neighborhood. His father invited a highly educated scholar to teach him. He was very smart with quick reading and excellent memory. He passed the test as a Child-Scholar at the age of fourteen while his father passed away at the same period of time. He loved to study and the scriptures and sutras were his favorites. When he was eighteen, his mother passed away. After his mother’s funeral, he was determined to leave his home and cultivate. He became a monk at the Ling-Yin Temple, Hang-Zhou, China. Abbot Yuan-Kon was his master who named him Dao-Ji (name for a dharma cultivator). After being enlightened, he conquered countless devils, healed many people, including people who were loyal to the country, people who pay their respect to their parents, and chaste and undefiled widows, his merits and virtues were boundless, infinite. His stories and historical evidence are still kept safely in the Ling-Yin Temple, Jing-Ci Temple, Hu-Pau Temple until this day. Since he was saving people everywhere, reviving countless dying or dead, people all believed that he was a reborn Living Buddha, thus he is called “ Ji-Gong Living Buddha (Ji, means to save, to rescue, to guide…etc; Gong, means selfless, for the public…etc.) “. He is the Enlightening Holy Teacher of nowadays White Sun Era.
六、 月慧菩薩：
水精子降世無量劫前修成正果，與濟公活佛同掌道盤，乃為我們先天師母。
6. Yue-Hui-Pu-Sa
Yue-Hui Bodhisattva. She reached Buddhahood countless time ago, now she is in charge the Dao Post with Ji-Gong Living Buddha.
七、 師尊：
為弓長祖，俗姓張，諱奎生，字光璧，道號天然，山東濟寧人，清光緒十五年（一八八九年）七月十九日生。於民國四年（一九一五年）求道，民國十九年（一九三０年）奉命與孫母二人同領天命，普渡三曹為白陽二
祖。民國三十六年（一九四七年）八月十五日戌時歸空，享年五十九歲，乃濟公活佛化身。
7. Shi-zun (18th Patriarch)
Incarnation of Ji-gong Living Buddha. His family name is Zhang, his first name is Kui-Sheng, also known as Guang-Bi and Tian-Ran in the Dao Temples. He was born on July 19, 1889 in Jining, Shandong Province of China. He received Dao in 1915 and was mandated with Heavenly Decree in 1930 as the eighteenth patriarch, or the second patriarch in the White-Sun Era, to complete the last salvation. He passed away during the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival in 1947 in Chengdu, Sichuan province of China.
八、 師母：
乃月慧菩薩轉世，姓孫名素真，道號慧明，於清光緒廿一年（一八九五年）八月廿八日降生。於民國十九年在山東省單縣與師尊同領天命，普渡三曹，辦理末後收圓，同為第十八代祖。師尊成道後，師母率眾弟子開展
道務於海內外，大闡宗風，於民國六十四年（一九七五）二月二十三日回天交旨。
8. Shi-Mu(18th Patriarch)
Our Shi-Mu is incarnation of Yue-Hui Bodhisattva. Her family name is Sun; her
given name is Su-Zhen, known as Hui-Ming in the Dao Temples. She was born in Shan County, Shandong province of China, on August 28, 1895. In 1930, it was ordained by Heavenly Decree that Shi-zun and Shi-Mu fulfill the last salvation. She passed away on February 23 in 1975.
