暫定佛規() Temporary Temple Etiquettes ( I )


壹:拜神禮佛的意義:The Meaning of Worship Gods and Buddha


平常的人拜佛,多為追求財富、名位及健康等利益。但是,有所求的拜神禮佛,不能算是修行,對人格與心靈的成長也無助益,而修行人的拜神禮佛有下述幾層意義。


0.        學習謙卑—由勤於敬仰仙佛菩薩,而逐漸去除我慢,養成溫和謙卑的習慣。


0.        感恩禮敬—感謝往聖古佛遺留德澤與經教,為後世留下千秋萬世不朽的典範。


0.        效法追隨—學習神佛無私無我、犧牲奉獻的精神,追隨其腳步自覺覺他、自立立人


0.        修持禪定—安寧的叩拜,當下「身、語、意」三業清淨;促進氣血循環也有益健康


0.        懺悔罪過—在佛前發自內心自覺慚愧懇切懺悔,隨時隨地自我省察,培養內德涵養


 


0.        People usually pray to buddhas for their wealth, health or fame. But worshiping buddhas for certain purposes is not real cultivation. This kind of praying is also not helpful for our spiritual growth and good characters. The followings are meanings for cultivator to worship Buddha: 


0.        Learn to be humble – When we bow to buddhas, we learn to change our proud attitude to be gentle and moderate.


0.        Be grateful and respectable We are grateful for the past saints and buddhas who set examples of virtues and teachings of sutras.


0.        Learn to imitate Learn to follow the steps and spirits of saints and buddhas. Learn to be selfless, devoting.


0.        Learn to be tranquil Peaceful making bows and tranquil worshiping make our Body, Speech and Mind clean and tranquil; it helps to develop the circulation of blood and energy which result in good health.


  Repent our mistakes Faithfully repent ourselves and self retrospect to increase our


          inner     virtues.


貳、參辭駕禮節


ㄧ. 參辭駕禮(如禮節簿)I. Arrival/ Departure Rituals


參辭駕程序(依參辭駕禮進行)(1) The process:

(二)適用時機:


佛堂為奉祀老中之所,每來至佛堂或離開時,必向老中施禮而用參辭駕禮節。另點傳師領受天命,替明師辦理一方之道務,乾坤道親於禮拜仙佛後,也應向傳道師施禮,以敬禮其天命。


有關向前人、傳道師參、辭、接、送駕之禮儀,茲分述如下: 


(2)Timing:


Dao temple is the place of worshipping Lao-Mu (Ming-ming-shang-di; the creator of the universe), therefore we have the ritual to pay the respect to Lao-mu when you arrive at / leave the temple. Dian-chuan-shi (Dao Transmitting Master) is ordained of heavenly decree to represent our Holy Teacher to propagate Dao. Thus we should bow to Dian-Chuan-Shi for his/her heavenly decree after bowing to buddhas.


1.參駕    (1)每至佛堂必依向仙佛參駕,此時如有前人、點傳師在場,繼續依序參駕   (前人一叩首、點傳師一叩首)


(2)一切禮節,乾坤分別行禮,不可混雜。


(3)有道親用跪拜禮參(辭)駕時,全體必須肅立,乾坤分班。


參(辭)駕者唸出引保師、前人大眾等時,在壇大眾之當事人須作揖還禮              


1.Arrival ritual:                                                                    (1)When we arrive at the temple or leave the temple, we should pay the respect to buddhas.   If Dian-chuan-shi is there, we need to make one more bow to him/her after finishing        arrival / departure ritual.


(2)Gentlemen and ladies should separate for arrival / departure ritual.


(3)When Dao members kneel down to bow to buddhas, all people in the temple should keep silent and stand up.


When they bow to introducer/guarantor and all Dao seniors, we need to make one bow to them.


2.辭駕: (1)凡離開佛堂時,必照佛規向仙佛辭駕,若前人傳道師等仍在壇,則須續行辭駕禮 (2)平時之參辭駕應使用跪拜禮,不宜草草鞠躬了事,以免簡慢。 


2.Departure ritual:


(1)When departure from the Temple, we should pay respect to Buddhas. If Qian Ren or Dian-Chuan-Shi is at the Temple, we need to make one more bow to him/her after finishing departure ritual.


(2)We kneel down and make bow when doing arrival/ departure ritual. Do not just salute which looks carelessly, hastily, not enough respect.


 


3.接駕: (1)若陪前人、傳道師至佛堂,或者先在佛堂而前人、傳道師較後到,除當面行問好外    還須到佛位前行叩頭或鞠躬禮(在其參駕後,再向其接駕) (2)如係開壇或法會時,仙佛到壇,俟其報出佛號及參駕後,乾坤即分別跪地接駕五叩首。人多擁擠,無法跪拜時,後面人員行五鞠躬禮即可


3.The ritual to welcome Qian-Ren and Dian-Chuan-Shi :


(1)If you accompany Qian-Ren / Dian-Chuan-hi to the temple or you arrive before Qian-Ren / Dian-Chuan-Shi in the temple, you should go to them for face to face greeting. Then, you should go to the front of Buddha Statues to make one bow to Qian Ren and Dian Chuan Shi.


(2)In the Dao seminar, we kneel down and make 5 bows to welcome the buddha’s arrival after he/she reports his name/bestowed title and pays his/her respect to Ming-Ming-Shang-Di. If there are many people in the temple and all cannot kneel down at the same time, people in the back can solute for 5 bows.


     


4.送駕:  (1)若陪前人、傳道師離開佛堂時,或者前人、傳道師先行離去時,在其辭駕之後,在佛位前向其行「送駕禮」。                                                                      


 4.The ritual to bid farewell to Qian-Ren and Dian-Chuan-Shi                                 1. If you leave the temple with Qian-Ren / Dian-Chuan-Shi or you leave after Qian-Ren / Dian-Chuan-Shi in the temple, you should go to the mat and make one bow to them when they complete the departure ritual.


 (2)熄燈,送佛駕熄燈者先向中燈作揖,熄兩儀燈(先下首側,再上首側),最後熄 中燈,熄燈者再面向中燈作揖,而旁立者一鞠躬。


2. If we need to put out the three holy lamps and bid farewell to God and   Buddhas: 


The person to put out the lamp should zuo-yi to the Middle Lamp first, then put out the lamp on the secondary ritual conductor side, then the lamp on the primary ritual conductor side. The Middle Lamp will be the last one to be put out.


The person who puts out the lamp is to make a hand sign bow and others in the temple salute for one bow.


 


向前人、點傳師行參(辭、接、送)駕禮後,隨即面向前人、點傳師鞠躬並向其報告:「後學向前人您老參(辭、接、送)過駕。」、「後學向點傳師參(辭、接、送)過駕。」(在場點傳師有兩位以上,則稱「各位點傳師」)當面稱天職之銜,不冠姓。


 


Note: After paying respect to Qian Ren, Dian Chuan Shi for their arrival, departure or when we arrive at/ depart from the Temple, we go to them and say the following face to face:


        HOU XUE XIANG NIN LAO/ DIAN CHUAN SHI CAN GUO JIA


         (Humbly I pay respect to your arrival/presence)


         HOU XUE XIANG NIN LAO CI GUO JIA


         (Humbly I pay respect and bid farewell to you)


         HOU XUE XIANG NIN LAO JIE GUO JIA


         (Humbly I pay respect and welcome your arrival)


         HOU XUE XIANG NIN LAO SONG GUO JIA


         (Humbly I pay respect and see you off/bid farewell to you) 


※點傳師的父母長親不要向其參、辭、接、送駕。                                     Notet: A member or members of Dian Chuan Shi’s earlier generation is/are not needed to do the above four rituals to Dian Chuan Shi.                                                   .
