放下 Put down

 

以前，有一個修道人，?雙手捧著一束鮮花，以最虔誠的心供養佛。

In the past, one person who cultivated oneself according to a religious doctrine,

Pair is held a bunch of flowers in hands, support Buddha with the most pious heart.

 

?佛陀一眼即看出他的來意，便問：「你今天來此供佛，是否心有所求？」

As soon as Buddha finds out his one's purpose in coming promptly at one glance, Buddha asks: [you come here to offer Buddha today, does the heart ask to some extent?]

 

?修道人就講：「世尊，我只是個修道人，我什麼都不求，我只是求道。」

People say:[generation, I whether piece cultivate oneself according to a religious doctrine people, I ask nothing, I just ask doctrine.]

 

?佛陀就告訴他：「好！你既然是來求道，那就放下吧！」?

Buddha tells him:[fine! Since you come to ask doctrine, then put down!]

 

於是，修道人就把花放下，雙手合十。 ?佛陀又告訴他：「再放下！」?

Then, people put down the flower , both hands put the palms together. 

Buddha tells him again:[put down again!]

 

修道人覺得奇怪，於是，把兩手也放下，?佛陀又說：「還要放下！」?

People feel strange, then, put the hands down too,

Buddha says again:[will put down!]

 

此時修道人不解地說：「世尊！花和手我都已放下，還有什麼要放下的呢？」

People say not understanding:[generation one! Flower and hands I put down already, have what want, put down?]

 

?佛陀說「你有求的這心念也要『放下』。」?修道人，當下大徹大悟。

Buddha says: [you have this intention which asks also to want " put down " the cultivating oneself according to religious doctrine person, awakens greatly immediately. (曾有田點傳師翻譯)
